QX-1 – Love Injection (Inject Me Love Mixx) (1991)

QX-1 is an alias of Mike Dunn, who is undoubtedly one of the most prolific and influental producers of Chicago's House Music generation. Having a vast number of classic productions under his belt, this one here is no exception as it's another precious effort by the Chicago native. Love Injection is pure Deep House in the true sense of the word. Hypnotic basslines, moody strings and some scatty vocals, Mike Dunn is simply pushing the right keys!

Burrell Brothers - Music Video Bootleg - I Really Like 1988

Before releasing raw and soulful house tunes on the label Nu Groove Records our two favorite producers, the beautiful Brothers Rheji & Rhano Burrell actually aspired a major career on Virgin Records. It was rather short dated. Under the band name Burrell they released one LP and three singles.

I just found this music video on Youtube. Apparently it was uploaded by Rheji himself. It is a bootleg music video for their 1988 single "I Really Like". Musically this song is definitely less interesting than most of their Nu Groove releases, but you can see things that you do not hear in their music, that they are good dancers and that they have great style of clothing.

Velodrome - Au Vélodrome 141 (1988)

Absolute Killer Ep on the german Animalized Label. Au Vélodrome 141 comes with psyched out frenchy vocals, dry funk flushes and sharp synth sounds for advanced dancefloor pleasures. Every track a winner on this one!

Program Your 808 - Poster Series by Rob Ricketts

Graphic designer Rob Ricketts coming up with a great idea. He made a series of informative posters detailing how some of the most notable drum sequences were programmed using the Roland TR-808 Drum Machine. Each sequence has been analyzed and represented as to allow users to re-programme each sequence, key for key.
An A3 print of the posters is available via shop@robricketts.co.uk.
